Jonathan Hill, Chief Executive Officer at The Football Association of Ireland (the FAI), brings over two decades of top-level experience in global sports marketing, with a strong focus on football. Formerly Group Commercial Director with the English Football Association, Commercial Director of Wembley National Stadium, and Commercial Director for Euro ’96.
Under his leadership, the FAI has achieved significant milestones, including the Ireland women’s team qualifying for their first-ever World Cup in 2023, the successful Ireland & UK bid for Euro 2028 and the introduction of equal pay across both national teams.
Across his three-year tenure, the FAI has undergone a complete rebranding, reflecting a need to create a modern and progressive organisation, committed to strong governance and sporting principles. Jonathan was also CEO for the Laureus World Sports Awards, the leading purpose-driven platform in the world of sport. His success lies in efficiently navigating complex multi-stakeholder and business partner environments, showcasing a commitment to both commercial development and financial sustainability within the sports industry.
