AGENCY OF THE YEAR
In 2020, ArqamFC helped some of the biggest football brands in the World and MENA region standout digitally.
From laying out digital strategies that set directions for years to come to executing content plans laid out meticulously to meet the goals and targets of football entities, ArqamFC has everything anyone needs for their digital revolution under one roof.
During this active season and the one before, we participated in 20 major tournaments and sports events, successfully revolutionizing their digital presence and event coverage during a worldwide pandemic. Examples of those are the CAF Awards, Total CAF Champions League, history’s biggest Asian Cup, and many more.
We look forward to an exciting decade ahead.
Ball Street Network
Ball Street is a Football Fan Engagement agency. We work with our clients to help them organically engage with football fans via social media, in a way which builds long term brand affinity.
We work with our clients to move them from the ‘ad space’ into the ‘culture space’.
How can we build on the success of devising and executing arguably the most successful and talked about football kit launch in history, Huddersfield Town’s kit launch with Paddy Power for the ‘Save our Shirt?
We did it by creating creative solutions which put the fans first.
These included making Snickers part of the English fan culture and growing 888sports’s YouTube football show ‘A Tenner Says’ into the most talked about football show on the internet.
Cake is the sport and entertainment hub of Havas. We create meaningful connections between people and brands through creativity and culture. Our ideas combine bold thinking with brilliant creativity, all underpinned by insight and data.
Our football clients and rights holders are best in class including BT (4 Home Nations Football Associations), EE (Wembley Stadium), PayPal (The FA), UNICEF (FC Barcelona), Carling, AFC
Wimbledon and PUMA.
Despite a year of unprecedented disruption Cake rose to the challenge, helping our clients continue thriving, meeting business, brand and activation objectives and using football partnerships to benefit fans, players, customers and UK society.
We’ve created and delivered leading activation strategies, showcased product benefits and changed perceptions, produced a variety of creative content, demonstrated the value and ROI of partnership activity, engaged and entertained fans remotely, supported communities, grassroots, male, female and Para/Disability football, raised money for charity and a fan-owned club to return home, recruited a new army of football volunteers, helped parents’ home schooling, thanked and rewarded children of key workers.
We’re proud to have delivered for our clients whilst looking after our people, in the most difficult of years – producing results that demonstrate the power of football partnerships in action.
Engage Digital Partners
Engage Digital Partners has continued to build a reputation for delivering fan engagement strategy and execution across content production, distribution and audience development and influencer marketing. We work in football with Australia’s A-League and W-League helping to re-write their digital strategy in 2019/20; with Real Madrid for whom we have created a fan engagement strategy and executed this on all social channels. We also work with Arsenal (now in their fourth season with EDP) to engage fans and fan clubs in India.
Our most ambitious work, also in India, has been with Chelsea FC who are striving to become the leading club in digital in India. We have brought them together with a Bollywood superstar who is also a genuine Chelsea fan. He is directly involved in content through a regular show, Out of the Blue and we have harnessed his social channels to enable CFC to appeal to the valuable entertainment audience. The results have been exceptional and Arjun Kapoor is becoming part of the Chelsea furniture and a real figurehead for the Indian market.
If you’re a football fan, it’s likely you’ve engaged with LiveWire Sport content every day for almost a decade, and we’ve let that work do the talking for us. But this year, as we become the first social-first agency to turn ten years old, it’s time to step out of the shadows.
In 2020/21, we entered our tenth year with the Premier League, produced an award-winning FIFA #WorldCupAtHome campaign, launched West Ham United on TikTok, produced over 250 bespoke assets for Inter Milan, and even developed our own charity campaign for Transfer Deadline Day, along with so much more.
In a time of unfathomable tragedy and disruption in the industry, we’ve grown the team by 75%; recorded a ninth straight year of turnover growth; won new business with many of the biggest rights holders in the world; supported the urgently-needed development of unrepresented talent; launched an app to help clients produce high-quality footage during lockdown; raised over £11m for UK charities through pro bono work; invested in a new sister agency, and continued to deliver for an enviable list of clients, all while continuing to develop our culture and nurture the well-being of our brilliantly talented team in challenging times.
LoveGunn are a full-service creative agency with a unique talent for transforming brands to attract their biggest fans.
Throughout the past 12 months LoveGunn have continued to collaborate with their client base to grow their global platforms and engage their audiences in new and exciting ways. Covid-19 posed huge challenges for the football industry, which meant both businesses and individuals had to adapt and innovate in order to survive and thrive. With football stadiums shut, and fans forced to support their teams remotely, brands have had to be agile and move quickly to ensure their community stays loyal and engaged. LoveGunn have embraced and lead this change through partnerships with professional football clubs, like Chelsea Football Club and grassroots esports initiative, the online FIFA tournament #STAYINtertotoCup.
MatchFit is a unique virtual PR agency which offers football clients the benefit of big agency experience with the nimble personal touch of a bespoke offering. With an enviable client list including the likes of The FA, COPA90 and LiveScore, MatchFit is already helping football governing bodies, media companies and football brands to tell stories that make a true impact.
Our existing remote-working model means that our clients aren’t spending their budget on a shiny MatchFit office, instead allowing us to cherry pick brilliant specialists to bolster the permanent MatchFit team and deliver best-in-class line-ups perfectly suited for each brief we work on.
In 2020, we’ve helped LiveScore connect millions of football fans with their official global sponsorship of LaLiga in Spain, marked 500 Days to Go until UEFA Women’s EURO 2021 for The FA and helped COPA90 and EA SPORTS convince their audience to #StayHomePlayTogether on FIFA21 in the fight against COVID-19.
We love the power that football has to entertain, inspire and unite communities in equal measure. Whether a client is a sponsor, rightsholder, club or brand, MatchFit is proud to be at the heart of football – ready to go and help tell their story.
WePlay was founded as the first performance-based sports marketing agency for the digital age. Our approach is entirely focused on delivering outcomes over outputs. That way, our clients can benefit from a world-class agency, without the traditional fixed costs associated with one.
Winner of the Football Business Awards Agency of the Year in 2017 and 2018, we are sports specialists and digital experts, seamlessly blending intelligence, strategy, creative and media for sporting organisations looking to achieve high-growth performance.
Despite the significant disruption to the sports industry in 2020, we focused on finding opportunity within the adversity. The shift towards streaming platforms and other direct-to-consumer revenue streams saw a huge rise in SVOD (subscription video on demand), audience development and digital sponsorship briefs from clients, with major success stories achieved in our work within the football industry.
We concluded the year with a remarkable 100% client retention rate, having generated direct commercial revenue for clients in excess of £200m over the last 4 years. 2020 marked our best year yet on record, with the foundations laid for even further growth in 2021.
