After 25 years in the duty free industry, Susan has successfully translated the commercial principles of luxury retail to the world of professional football. As Senior Executive Vice President with the Thai duty-free company, King Power Group, Susan oversaw the company’s purchasing and merchandising functions, as well as corporate planning and commercial development strategy for all of King Power’s airport retail outlets and four downtown duty-free shopping malls in Thailand. Susan retains a role as advisor to the CEO, King Power International Group.
When King Power bought Leicester City Football Club in 2010, they appointed Susan as their representative on the Board of Directors. She became Chief Executive Officer in July 2011 and since then has been instrumental in the Club’s journey from the EFL Championship League to the Premier League title, the UEFA Champions League and now the Europa League. She also represents King Power on the main Board of the Belgian club, OH Leuven, and is a Director of Leicester City Womens Football Club.
Susan headed the team that delivered the Club’s new 180-acre Training Ground project in north Leicestershire and will be overseeing the expansion of the King Power Stadium and facilities development project. At the same time, she has prioritised the Club’s role as a pivotal and positive force within the community. She sits on the board of the Club’s two Charitable Trusts, the VS Foundation and Leicester City in the Community, and has fostered the Club’s support of local charities. In January 2019, the University of Leicester recognised Susan’s contribution to the community and her business acumen with an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Laws). Her contribution to the local community was further recognised in October of that year with her appointment as a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Leicestershire.
